vega

When VEGA first came out with plant-based protein powder, the taste was pretty bad, leaving a chalky feeling in your mouth. Their flavors and formulas have evolved, but I am not yet convinced that their product is worth the price.

My current favorite is cold-brew coffee for a quick recovery drink after a tough workout. I blend one scoop of VEGA with 1 cup of ice and 1 cup of water.

Keep in mind this has about the same amount of caffeine as one cup of coffee. So, if you’re sensitive to caffeine like me, you will want to stick to using this after your morning workouts.

I tried the matcha green tea flavor, but it left a terrible aftertaste of artificial sweeteners in my mouth, so I returned it.

Juice Plus+ complete

I’ve been using Juice Plus+ Complete for over five years and it is hands down my favorite protein powder for a number of reasons.

  1. It tastes great!

  2. It blends well with any flavors and does not leave a chalky aftertaste.

  3. It has a blend of three different types of plant proteins.

  4. It is vegan and non-GMO.

I mix one scoop with one cup of ice and one cup of water for a recovery drink, or I add banana, spinach, nut butter, and hemp seed to make it a meal.

I have more recipes to share, so let me know if you order this product and I’ll send you a recipe book that goes along with this brand.

Orgain

I tried several recipes with this protein powder and discovered that it needs a lot of fruit to mask the taste and consistency. Not my favorite on taste, but not a bad product overall if you’re looking for extra plant-based protein.

The serving size is two scoops and the container has about 27 servings.
